AI-friendly filenames
Turn any title into a filename a machine can read.
Paste a headline, a product name, or a photo caption. Get back a clean, lowercase, hyphenated filename with the punctuation stripped: the form search engines and AI crawlers actually parse. No signup, no email, no limit.
Filename generator
Filenames are one small part of how a machine reads your site. This tool comes out of my Standards Report, which checks your site against four pillars: performance, accessibility, search and AI readability. See where your site stands, free, usually by the next business day. No signup, and the tool above stays free either way.
Why it matters
Filenames are content, and most sites waste them.
A filename is a ranking signal you already own.
Google reads image filenames. So do the AI crawlers now deciding what gets cited. IMG_4471.JPG says nothing; oak-dining-table-walnut-finish.jpg says exactly what the image is, at zero cost.
Spaces and punctuation break things quietly.
Spaces become %20, apostrophes and ampersands get encoded differently by different systems, and uppercase behaves inconsistently across servers. Hyphenated lowercase avoids every one of those.
It has to be a habit, not a cleanup project.
Renaming a media library after the fact means chasing every reference to every file. Naming it correctly on the way in costs five seconds. That is the entire argument for this tool existing.

The free report covers three pages I choose and gives you the top finding on each pillar. The full report ($229, credited toward your first month if you subscribe) covers every finding on those pages, with context and page-load detail.
